HOW OUR PRODUCT IS BETTER AND DIFFERENT

We don’t just randomly harvest our kelp seaweeds anywhere but we culture, cultivate and grow them at our own open marine farm. We pick the best seed every time we plant.

We are the ONLY seaweed fertilizer company that uses the raw material Laminaria Japonica seaweed kelp species which offers more nutritional content than other kelp species. We have full control of everything from selecting only the best seeds to the use of our high technology and proprietary enzymatic hydrolysis processing to ensure the quality and nutrition consistency of our kelp fertilizer products. Growing kelp in our open ocean water environment allows us to have sustainable marine farming operations. Our Laminaria Japonica kelp provides a lot and a different set of nutrients different from other seaweed fertilizers harvested in other areas.

Our parent company, Shidai Marine Biotechnology is one of the world’s biggest kelp marine cultivation farms with kelp seeds originating from Hokkaido, Japan in 1718 then cultured in Rongcheng Bay in China since the 1920s. Since then, during every harvest cycle, the newly planted seeds were picked from “the best of the best seeds” making each kelp harvest cycle a better breed than the previous one. These highly cultured kelp plants are then processed WITHOUT USING ANY HARSH CHEMICALS nor HIGH HEAT PROCESS in order to preserve the kelp plant nutrients and provide for the best plant nutrition. This is the very reason why we have kept our kelp fertilizer in the liquid format to keep all the kelp micro-nutrients intact compared to the powder version which has lost many of its micro nutrients. The quality of raw material and our high technology proprietary processing are the foundations of our seaweed fertilizer brand – LJ KELP.

Our fresh Laminaria Japonica kelp:

  • Is a major source of minerals. amino acids, enzymes, trace elements, or micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium, Sulphur, manganese, copper, iron, and zinc, which are in short supply in the ground.
  • (Kelp’s vitamin B) provides plants with the energy needed to cope with the stress resulting from such fast development which can prove extremely useful during cloning for lowering the death rate of the most vulnerable nursery plants.
  • Contains a series of growth hormones such as auxins, gibberellins, and cytokinins which promote stem elongation and induce germination, mitotic cell division, and regulate tissue differentiation, causing a strong increase in leaf chlorophyll concentration and, in turn, fostering the development of foliar mass.
  • Helps retain water and moisture in the soil especially during the bad drought seasons.
  • Helps improve and loosen the impact of soil compaction.
  • Kelp is e-Coli contamination-free and antibiotic-free compared to other (animal manure) natural forms of fertilizers.
  • Our Liquid fertilizer can deliver micro-molecular nutrients to plants faster, reduce loss, and enhance fertilizer efficiency.

Laminaria Japonica kelp stimulates the emergence of new sprouts when applied as a foliar fertilizer after the start of the blooming stage. Through constant use, Laminaria Japonica kelp may provide natural antibiotic properties that help fight damaging viruses and bacteria protecting plants from infections and pests, and many more!

Some experts say kelp is the “The Secret Swiss Army Knife” of your plant nutrients. Our manufacturing and processing standards are administered under high ISO 9001 food-grade levels using advanced high tech bio-enzymatic hydrolysis processing with over 300 proprietary machines having patents both in the USA and Asia. You can be assured the fertilizer you put on your crops is food safe, of very high quality, with full kelp essence nutrition intact, and with no (zero) chemicals used in the processing.

Needless to say, the better quality organic fertilizer you use, the more your farm can produce better quality crops, and the better you can get prices and profits from it!

NOT ALL SEAWEED FERTILIZERS ARE MADE EQUAL. 99% of the seaweed fertilizers sold in the market today are made from just randomly harvested (not cultivated) Nodosum Ascophyllum or some other types of seaweeds. Because our competitor’s seaweeds are not cultured, cultivated, nor farmed, they do not provide consistent fertilizer quality. More to that, they use harsh chemicals to process their seaweed fertilizers which are not only bad for your crops, bad for the environment and marine life, and worst, bad for the health of the people that consume your farm crops. What is Laminaria japonica?

From the family Phaeophycaeae, Laminaria japonica is a cold water species of large brown algae. In East Asia, Laminaria japonica is a popular everyday food item. It has high nutritional and medicinal value. Research has shown that Laminaria japonica has numerous beneficial effects on the human body, including immune regulation, anti-tumor, and anti-oxidation effects. Laminaria japonica has a high adsorption capacity and can absorb nutrients and active ingredients in seawater faster and at a higher concentration compared to other species of algae. Therefore, we only use whole (not scraps) and fresh food-grade Laminaria japonica to make fertilizers for your farm crops so safety is assured.  Laminaria japonica has a strong affinity with terrestrial plants, where nutrients can be easily absorbed and converted into growth energy. Natural alginic acid, kelp polysaccharides, kelp oligosaccharides, amino acids, mannitol, indole acetic acid, indole butyric acid, gibberellin, phenolic substances in Laminaria japonica are all necessary and safe food for soil and plant growth. They also provide powerful synergy for increasing yield, as well as improving quality, disease resistance, and stress resistance.

Origins of Laminaria Japonica Kelp Seaweed Species

Laminaria japonica has been cultivated in Japan since 1718. With seeds originating from Hokkaido, Japan, kelp seaweed has been farmed in China since the 1920s.  Ever since then, our Laminaria Japonica has also been cultivated, bred, and farmed in Rongcheng Bay in China using only the best seeds to plant from each harvest thereby making every new planting the best of the best breed over one hundred years of continuous marine cultivation.

We continue this in our own marine farms so we have 100% control of the quality.   Because of the ocean currents, the sea-water of Rongcheng Bay is rich in nutrients ideally needed for kelp growth. And over those one hundred years of cultivation, science has proven that kelp absorbs up to 400,000 times of its own inherent nutrients, and, attains its maximum levels of nutrient contents between March and August that’s why they are harvested during those periods. This ensures that the very high nutrition content of the SHIDAI MARINE liquid kelp fertilizer we process.
